The following genealogy research resources are available at the W.T. Bland Public Library
(all of these resources are FREE to Lake County residents)


Access to online genealogy research websites

You can search for genealogy records on the library editions for:

* Ancestry.com Library Edition

* Heritage Quest Library Edition which includes: U.S. census, books, PERSI, Revolutionary War, and Freedman's Bank (African-American) records.

Books & Magazines

A growing variety of genealogy books and Family Tree Magazine are available to check out.

(A library card is necessary to utilize the above genealogy resources)

Genealogy Help Desk

* Genealogy Volunteers are available every Wednesday from 10:00 to 2:00 to assist you with your research and use of Ancestry.com. No appointment is necessary.

Monthly Workshops

* Monthly genealogy workshops which alternate monthly (reservations must be made on the W.T. Bland Public Library website):

 "Introduction to Genealogy" and "Avoid the Pitfalls of Genealogy Research"

Monthly Group Meeting

The Mount Dora Genealogy Group meets the 4th Tuesday of every month for a brief presentation and a round table discussion on a specific genealogy topic.  All levels of experience are welcome. Join the fun to meet new people, share ideas and learn something new.
